Okay so this headline: Vanessa Hudgens Shops For Home in Montreal is kind of getting me to freak out. Apprently in Old Montreal, too. I'm going back to the old homeland next week and we always end up going to Old Montreal when we're there, especially in the summer. I realize there's certain people on the flist who live in LA and therefore, having celebrities in your city isn't all that exciting, but celebrities are nonexistant here (save for ASHLEY FUCKING GREENE WHO WAS HERE LAST SUMMER.) so this is exciting. Especially since it's Vanessa and Alex Pettyfer, omg. And, no, I will not stalk them. But if I just HAPPEN to run in to them THEN GREAT! rofl.

Julie and I went on a hike this morning. We left at 7am and just got home. We were walking almost the entire time. It wouldn't have been that much walking had I not listened to Julie saying "no we'll just walk, it's not that far!" 2 and a half hours later, we finally get to the park. I will never listen to her again.

Clary Fray? I think so. I adore Alexz Johnson, but I just don't see her as Clary. Plus, I'd rather she focus on her music because IT'S AMAZING. ETA: I just realized she would make a really good Gemma Doyle, too. TWO CHARACTERS IN ONE.

WHY WHY WHY DID I SAY I WOULD WRITE A SCRIPT? My 43 page script is due on Monday and I have done squat. I don't even know what I'm doing. Ugh. I just got home from a less than perfect day. The day started out okay when I went to work at 7am and just went downhill from there. After work, at 12, I got on the bus to go home for a bit before my class at 4. Took a shower, had lunch, dried my hair, got dressed, did makeup, rushed out the door to catch the bus I was already late for, missed said bus, waited 20 minutes for the next one, got to the mall to wait for the other bus, got to school 10 minutes before class which was on the other side of campus, RAN to class, got to class huffing and puffing only to see that the lights were off and there was a note on the door saying: POLITICAL STUDIES IS CANCELLED. So basically, I wasted 3 hours getting to and from school FOR NO REASON AT ALL. GRRR. I figured out the other day that it takes me the entire Wicked soundtrack to get home. Sometimes longer. Fun fact.

I've been really absent from LJ/the internet world for the past few weeks and I don't think that is going to change in the near future. When I'm not working or at school, I'm sleeping, doing homework or catching up on tv shows. And I've decided that I need to contribute more to IFH.net because I've been seriously lacking so any free time other than listed above will go into that.

PS I'm kind of pretty much obsessed with Supernatural now. I bought the first season and I just finished it yesterday. WINCHESTER BOYS. OMG. Dean, I love you.

ETA: And now my mom is yelling at me to clean the kitchen. Goodbye little free time I had. You were good to me.

Apparently, my new nickname at school is Twilight Girl. A little uncreative, but sure, it works I guess.

I had a tiny bit of a SQUEE fest in french this morning with palpable and then my teacher came over and started talking to me about my favorite part (DWANGELA! HOLLY THINKING KEVIN IS RETARDED! JIM HALPERT!!!). That episode? UM FREAKING AWESOME! Besides the obvious, you know, Andy STEALING JIM'S WOULD-HAVE-BEEN PERFECT MOMENT. GRRR ANDY, NEVER HAVE I HATED YOU SO MUCH. But other than that the episode pretty much made me pee my pants I was laughing so hard. AND AMY RYAN! LOVE HER!

Also? This week, two awesome sets of photos have come out and I owe captaincatapult for having seen them because without her, I would not have. SO THANK YOU ANNA! And I've been meaning to say: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! for the past week and I hate myself for leaving it so late.

Yesterday I finished The Time Traveler's Wife after captaincatapult mentioned it in a post. HOLY CRAP that was a fantastic book. The way those two loved each other is so real and deep. There was just one tiny part I found unnecessary at the end but that part is easy to ignore. But I really hate when it's not written that Henry has black hair until 150 pages into the book; I was picturing him with BLONDE HAIR. Then I had to force myself to imagine black hair but I couldn't because I already had this image in my head. This happened in Twilight too. For the longest time I pictured Alice with long reddish/orange hair and Rosalie with dark brown hair. How weird is that?

What to read next? I'm REALLY feeling like reading The Lovely Bones. Unless someone has any other suggestions? I have about 20 books in my room that I want/need to read but as always, I want to read what I don't have. I was going to read Atonement next but I'm not sure I'm in the mood for it.

I need to rant about my brother and how much I really really hate him.

He went out about 2 hours ago. I came downstairs and the TV was on (as always) and his Xbox was still on too (again, it ALWAYS is) and have you ever heard one of those things? they're freaking loud! So I figured he'd be out for a while maybe not even back at all tonight so I turn it off. He came back with his friend about 10 minutes ago and starts yelling at me because I dare turn off his Xbox and save energy. My brother is extremely scary at times. He's has threatened me many times, once that he would bash my head against the cement wall because I wouldn't get off the computer and he wanted on. The other night, he got this thing for the car radio for his new iPod and since he's the driver, it doesn't matter that I have an iPod, I'm not allowed to use it. Ever.

Then, the other day, his friend was on my computer (it's the family's really but my brother has his laptop and my mom uses the computer once a month for an hour so I call it mine) and my brother was playing video games. Um couldn't his friend just go home AND DOWNLOAD HIS MUSIC ONTO HIS OWN COMPUTER?! Ugh. He's done it before too and I deleted it all and my brother yelled at me again saying it's not just my computer. FYI, he has his OWN laptop and his OWN Limewire. This, I do not get.

More and more lately he's gotten this sense of entitlement. I mean, he's grown up without any friends and now he has lots of friends that actually like having him around, but other than that, I have no idea where it's coming from.

I just want him to move out. He thinks he owns the house and then turns around and says I'm the selfish one.

And now with them down here whooping and hollering I can't get any homework done. I was counting on not having anyone here. And to top it all off, my brother's friend works at a TV and stereo place and he's brought over these massive speakers and I can here the video game sound vibrating the floor. Greeeeat. I have my music on pretty loud and it's Tegan and Sara to boot (he hates Tegan and Sara) I'm really tempted to turn it up louder but I'm actually scared of him.

Man, the f-list went CARAZZY the last two days. I haven't been on since yesterday. WOAH!

Anyways, no real entry tonight because I'm too tired and I need to take my mind off school tomorrow because nothing is doing the trick except thinking about going to MICHIGAN next week! I'm extremely excited. I just took work off for the weekend today. My boss is going to be mad because I didn't do it earlier and I had to do it in a note but I don't care, she can fire me because nothing is going to stop me from going to see onemagnet.

RANT

The following is a rant that I felt was very necessary:

Sometimes I wish I was the only one who has ever read the Twilight series. This whole war thing over the fangirls (who I’ve actually never encountered) and the people who think they are totally above the Twilight fangirls and make fun of them is really getting tiring. I rarely talk about Twilight (here, in real life I do) because of this. I’m not a fangirl by any means. I love the books and that’s it. But the thing that has been bugging me the most about this whole fandom is the Bella hate. I don’t know exactly when it happened but I’m pretty sure it was after Eclipse but it doesn’t really matter because I honestly cannot find any evidence that Bella is “lame” or “needs to die” I don’t see it. But what do I think the problem is? Girls. Girls are the worst (and let’s face it, most of every fandom is made up of girls. The term is fangirls for a reason) they sit there and judge girls for the most far fetched reasons and the guys come out smelling like roses no matter what they do. Edward has made mistakes, he’s done wrong, sure, he left Bella for her, to protect her blah blah blah, but he’s perfect right? He’s Edward Cullen. No. I don’t care if he’s Edward freaking Cullen. I can’t stand that people let him off the hook and then give Bella crap for not being considerate for Edward’s feelings (again, I can’t find any evidence of this in the books.) She’s a teenaged girl who has to deal with freaking mystical creatures and she has to make impossible decisions, I would be difficult in that situation too; but of course, everyone else would just be perfect. Mhmm. Again, I’m not entirely sure why people hate Bella; I’m sure people have different reasoning.
But really, this girl problem really came to me this season with Julie Taylor from FNL. She’s constantly being painted as this major bitch. I admit, she has been a bitch this season. And I don’t mean for breaking up with Matt. That I fully supported, and I love them together. But people aren’t looking at what’s going on around her; for the first 16 years of her life she has been the center of her parents universe. She was an only child. Technically, she still is even with baby Grace. In my psychology class last year we learned that if a child is the only child for 7 years or more, they are considered an only child no matter what. They always feel like that. And that is what’s happening to Julie although she still has to share her parents with this new sibling. And a newborn at that. I think just for this, her actions and behaviors can be explained. And then there’s Lyla of course. The amount of hate people have for her is undeniable. I’m guessing this hate comes from her sleeping with Tim while Jason was in the hospital. But really? Really? Tim gets some crap but for the most part, girls love him even with what he did with Lyla while his best friend was in the hospital, because he’s hot and hot guys can get away with anything. I’ll admit, I adore Tim Riggins, but if I let Tim off the hook, I do the same for Lyla. I’m not going to make that double standard just because she’s a girl and guys are expected to sleep around but if girls do they are sluts. No. That’s totally unfair.
And then of course, there’s Marissa Cooper. Ryan, quite possibly the worst character on that show, is painted as this amazing guy while Marissa is a whining, annoying piece of crap? I won’t even try and understand this one. This is one that has bothered me for 4 years and I still can’t figure it out.

I’m just so sick of girls judging girls this way. And I’m not just talking fictional characters here. You can’t be too fat; too thin; too whiny; you can’t wear what you want to wear; talk too much; talk too little; or else you’ll get judged and labeled. And the big one: if you stand up for yourself, you’re a bitch. For once in my life, I stood up for myself and I’m a bitch now. And the thing is, I used to be really nice; now, I act like everyone expects me to act. I’ve turned into a complete bitch because of these girls who constantly judge. I work with about 10 girls and one guy. I’m always hoping that guy, Richard, is working because I can ask him anything about what the hell I’m doing and not feel like an idiot. I swear, it’s gotten to the point where I’m nervous around girls. I’m constantly on alert around girls, wondering what kind of judgments their putting on me.

Girls are harsh, and I don’t know how this is ever going to stop.

I have probably missed so much that I've wanted to get out, as always, so I might have to add to this.

Gay Rights

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on livejournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights".

Apparently, this is an old meme but I never saw it so I'm doing it now because this is one topic that I have firm views on.

I remember once, when I was about 10 or 11, my mom and I were driving and along the road, stopped, was a big red bus with something about anti gay rights. It was like a freaking tour bus going around telling people not to support gay marriage. This is really the first time I really knew what being gay was. Right then and there I decided it was completely unfair for anyone to have this right to go around telling people not to allow certain people to live in the way they choose. It still baffles me that people believe they have some sort of right to judge homesexuals and tell them they aren't allowed to live the life they want to live. They aren't hurting anyone; they aren't doing anything illegal so mind your own business. It's like going up to someone who has red hair and telling them to dye their hair brown because it's more natural. Something you're born with cannot be changed. You can't help who you fall in love with. I also really hate when people think that I'm gay just because I support gay rights. Only homosexuals can speak out for themselves? Bullshit and completely unfair.

Okay, I managed to keep my ranting to a minimum there which really surprised me because I can get pretty heated about this topic.

Also, I really recommend watching All Aboard! Rosie's Family Cruise I know, ew it's Rosie, but honestly, it's an amazing movie and really shows the crap that these people have to go through on a daily basis. I remember I watched it and my mom came in and asked why I was watching this crap I answered "Because it's great" and the next week I came downstairs and my mom was crying, I looked at the TV, she was watching the movie.

Things I got this Christmas:

• Box O’ Books is what we’re calling it. My mom filled a box of books from my wishlist for me that include: The Farther You Run by Davida Willis Hurwin (don’t know how I’m going to get through this one since the first one was so freaking sad), The Pact by Jodi Picoult, Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin, Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger, Kit’s Law by Donna Morrissey, And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.
• Friday Night Lights The Complete First Season (yes! I haven’t seen most of the first season)
• The Audrey Hepburn Collection
• Enchantment: The Life of Audrey Hepburn (I’m not even a huge Hepburnfan;I just really like Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I’m much more of a Monroe fan.)
• PJs
• Huge curling iron
• Yellow shirt (because now that I’m not blonde anymore I can wear yellow)
• Sixteen Candles
• Various stocking stuffers and chocolate
• iPod dock! Last night at 8 o’clock my dad gave it to me because he had forgotten that he had it. He felt all bad but it was cool because it was like Christmas wasn’t over. Plus it was an amazing gift. I love it so much. I can now play my iPod while cleaning my room and stuff.

And that’s it. Pretty good year I must say. Bonus that everyone was in a fairly good mood (and not punching holes in the walls like 2 Christmases ago)

First, Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays) to the flist! I hope you all have an especially great day.

Second, thanks to the amazing poetrytoprose I just finished watching Atonement. Wow. I can't say anything else. I absolutely loathe Kiera Knightley, I find she ruins every movie she's in so I really wasn't expecting much from the movie. But I really did love it. And James McAvoy didn't hurt either ;)

And then, of course, Sweeney Todd which I saw yesterday with some friends. Again, wasn't expecting much from this one either but it really turned out to be as fantastic as everyone said it was. I can't stop singing "Johanna". Did anyone else sort of maybe tear up at the end? WHAT? IT WAS SAD!

I'm off to watch Friday Night Lights season 1 which I got from my brother. I still haven't seen most of it.

I need The OC back. I've been noticing lately how crappy my music taste has gotten since the demise of my show as well as Veronica Mars and a half season of One Tree Hill, all of which I relied on for my music. Now I have to rely on what I hear on the radio and that is not good. The radio here is filled with mainstream pop and R&B. Ew. But it's all getting to me. I've actually started listening to OneRepublic. Not good. I'm getting a tad antsy now just waiting for OTH to come back so I can get some decent music and not be quite so embarrassed looking at my iTunes list.
